So I picked up some PE mysis today (Piscine Enterprises), which is supposed to be really super high quality freshwater mysis collected from cold waters in Canada and then immediately flash frozen. I got it because my sick female was looking raggedy again and was acting lethargic, not eating. So I thawed the new mysis and poured it right on top of her, and she went nuts eating it!! I was so happy! She didn't even touch the frozen mysis/spirulina/brine mix that I tried to feed her yesterday.

    Totally recommend this stuff.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the ich came from stress of shipping and of transport back and forth between my place and the store twice. They're hangin on tho.

You could be a noob and had no idea what you were getting into, threw them into a 20g, let them get sick and just let them die.

The sexing thing is a simple fix, get moar! Also an easy mistake to be made by anyone.
Ich, could have totally been from stress of shipping weakening the immune. Which is given.

Then I'll add the Purigen back and let it do its thang.

Oh btw... they were all behaving female and fighting with each other, so I peered at the bottoms to semi-vent them again... lo and behold, 5 females. The prettiest of 'em all, which I thought for sure was a male and didn't vent, turned out to be female on venting. Argh. I'll see if I can get a hold of a male if there's any of 'em left.

You want to make sure you get all the free swimming. Do water change and treat for a few more days after all that and try to siphon against the substrate.

Coo, thanks. I'll let you know when I get my life back. I couldn't capture the moment cuz it happened overnight!! I just saw the aftermath right now cuz I happened to come home early today for the first time all month.
