Thanks for the tip. I got hooked up this time but I ran out anyway. Maybe I'll hit up HEB tomorrow... er, later today.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostYou could leave the lights out and hope for the best when it comes time to re-introduce her.
To save you some money, buy rock/sea salt from the grocery store or whatever That's what I use instead of the aquarium labeled salt.
Well at least now I can have the lights on in the main tank and watch everyone play! It's especially fun to watch the scalare and the geos go head to head. Heh! Guess who wins?!

I know Quockarooney, it's an aquarium brand. And thanks... the others are finally settling just a little. Which makes me wonder if I should even put sickie back in once she's better and then she'll have to find a new territory and fight it out, or if I should give her back. We'll see.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostSea salt, make sure there is NO ANTI-CAKING agent.

Well due to the endless generosity of my fellow boxers, I was able to borrow a 30 gallon quarantine tank and some Quick Cure (malachite green and formalin) and some CopperSafe. I took out my sickie and put her in the quarantine with tank water, 1 tsp/5 gal salt, Kordon organic Ich Attack, and 1.8 mL of the Quick Cure, as well as some of the plants. Temp at 87. I have a Koralia nano and an airstone agitating the surface. I added the CopperSafe to the main tank, where all the geos are active but one still has some spots. That's a month-long dose, so hopefully it should cover whatever parasites are left.
The sickie actually looks a million times better than she did this morning. The way she had looked had me in a panic. She still won't eat anything but I moved her to a new tank which probably pissed her off a bit. She's breathing a bit hard but I think it's from stress more than anything, since I have both the airstone and the circ pump in there.
Here's some updated pics of the tank, sans emperors or rummies. :( I actually found one rummy and a few emperors and moved them to my nano, along with a dose of Ich Attack. And at the end is a vid of the sickie.

Well, I'm just glad the fish are ok. Hopefully just a few more days and you'll pull through! Then you can take a nap. :)Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostWell, I tried the Stability thing and it almost seemed to make it worse so I stopped that and stopped being lazy and do what I normally do, 100% wc to ease the process. With the 30g it was so much easier, this 180g worth of water sucks.
I'm on day three now I guess and they all seem fine and the water is clearing up a bit better everyday. I smelt something funny with the tap water last night so I've been running the carbon bottle a lot slower than I would like but hopefully by the beginning of next week everything will be back in order.
Water changes, amquel+plus and sea salt have been my daily routine.

Hit that tank hard with the salt B! You've already accepted to lose the plants so go all out with the dosing!
