Agreed. As easy as water changes and maintenance are, actually obtaining a scape and trimming and re-scaping over and over takes a lot of time. That's why mine is in shambles right now.
I feel like the 105 is far easier to work with. Oh well. It'll make a comeback over April-May-June!!

J/K Bee.
If you decide to buy Ecoxotic strips, I've got a cheap power supply suggestion that will reduce cost by about $15 - $20.

Yeah? I'm still figuring out what to do. I think I need a twin T5 HO on there at least 8 hours out of the day if those plants are gonna make it and still look reasonable. Other than that, I was thinking of doing a stunner strip the rest of the time. Dunno. Text me this afternoon! I just got done with one of the most brutal night shifts of my life and I am GOING TO BED! (after I post a few more posts on the box)Originally posted by SunnyHouTX View PostHahahaha

Bee I hope you are sleeping well. Dreaming of your showcase fish. The tank looks great. You did a great job and I bet your dad takes no creddit. I really like the driftwood. Its fantastic that all those named helped to make this come together. That its self is a look in to the character and quality of all the great people here. If you were going with angels. I would be happy to give you four. If your Showcase fish will not kill thim. They would love that tall tank. Looking forward to seeing the SCF in it.

I'm missing the shimmer that you get with LEDs though. :( I want to go with them but I dunno if those will keep my vals alive. I don't need them to propagate or go crazy or anything, just want them to look good and be alive.
a 36" will leave the corners looking dark, either look for a retrofit type kit (Catalina makes some nice ones although I use the cheaper Current USA) or take the legs off the fixture and run a couple wooden rails alsong the short sides to the canopy that the fixture can rest on and still slide front to back on...thats what i am currently doing with a wavepoint 48" fixture in my canopy75G Standard - High Light Planted Community Fish

This is how I have mine set up. It's really simple to do and works out very nicely.Originally posted by Totenkampf View Post...take the legs off the fixture and run a couple wooden rails alsong the short sides to the canopy that the fixture can rest on and still slide front to back on...thats what i am currently doing with a wavepoint 48" fixture in my canopyVicki

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem with this custom canopy is that it has two wooden slabs that rest on top of the glass on the two short sides of the tank. Meaning, it's a 48" long tank but when you put the canopy on, the way it rests leaves only about 45" to work with. I don't mind if the top two corners of the back of the tank look a little darker... I actually like that effect.Originally posted by Totenkampf View Posta 36" will leave the corners looking dark, either look for a retrofit type kit (Catalina makes some nice ones although I use the cheaper Current USA) or take the legs off the fixture and run a couple wooden rails alsong the short sides to the canopy that the fixture can rest on and still slide front to back on...thats what i am currently doing with a wavepoint 48" fixture in my canopy
I think I will try out the 36" T5 with different bulbs than I have now and see how it works out. If I don't like that, I may end up with two 36" LED strips that overlap a little and see how that works. Just worried about the plants not liking the LEDs.All bleeding stops eventually...

Haha well thank you troy tucker! I think you will be most delighted with one of my showcase fish. They were due to arrive last Friday, and are now delayed to this Thursday. Who knows if they will even come in, but a girl can dream! :)Originally posted by troy tucker View PostBee I hope you are sleeping well. Dreaming of your showcase fish. The tank looks great. And I completely agree with you. I absolutely could not have had this tank without the help of my fishbox family! All bleeding stops eventually...

Sigh. Well the first type was completely sold by the importer before they could even be shipped, so my only option is to buy the 2 adult males that are in a tank together. They've never fought or anything so it should be okay. We'll see. I may go pick those up on Saturday. As far as the second type, the WC adults are basically priced at 80 bucks a pop, so I'm going to go with the F1 juvies instead. Hopefully those will arrive Saturday or early next week.Originally posted by troy tucker View PostIs today the Day? Waiting to see your SCF.
Thanks for the interest! Stay tuned. :) If I pick up the 2 males on Saturday, I'll post up some pics on Sunday depending on how they're doing. All bleeding stops eventually...
