PICS! 105 custom tall: aquabee's exit from the world of nanos
I don't see a reason for purigen or whatever it is unless you have to rush a cycle. Personally I feel better watching the cloudiness come and go... knowing things are as they should be.

Secret! Will have to wait til they come in and get acclimated to bring them home. They live together in one particular basin of the Amazon... and that's all I'll say! )

Thanks! :) I actually don't put Purigen in there to mask the bacteria blooms or anything... I use it in place of carbon but also, the water gets to be crystal clear as it removes sand particles and tannins and stuff. It made my 20 long look absolutely gorgeous. I don't want a blackwater tank but I do want the water softening and conditioning properties of the peat, so I pretty much have to use Purigen for that.
