Small silvers(5" or less) shouldn't be kept with tank mates until they're about 7". Plus a RTC + a young Silver usually ends up as a missing Silver and a very full RTC. Silvers are the jumpiest out of the SA Aro's. You can keep Tinfoil barbs and non-aggressive fish with Silvers. Small cichlids are usually faster at getting food resulting in less food for the Silver. This is why waiting until they are about 7" before introducing tank mates is the best idea. Silvers are also very easy to convert to pellets when young. A normal healthy Silver should take to pellets in 24 hours or less of being introduced into the tank. If you're worried about the Silver taking a while to grow to 7", dw, the normal growth for Silvers is 1.5"-3" a month. HTH's.

I have always thought that with enough java moss that shrimp would be doable with a surface predator like that and I bet you would have a crazy colony of cherries in its tank...In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
