Shrimp tend to hide alot. mainly when they know there are predators. when the ram goes nighty night, they come out and have a party.

I got a surprise this morning when I turned to tank light on. Yesterday I had seen one shrimp alive all day and called it super shrimp since it looked like the lone survivor of the ram but this morning it had 3 buddies cleaning the bottom with it. Five minutes later all I see is the one shrimp again.

i dislike tops on aquariums, unfortunately the cats force me to do the same. i left the lid off one night because the light is so much better looking when not going through a glass top, one cat immediately fished out my african butterflyfish. grrr. rebuilding the canopy is another project on the list.

+1 on the rockin 'Stache. I had a freind that had 2 bengals and they loved getting in the bath with anyone, it was quite a surprise. 2 large (30#) cats jumping in your bath with you already in it was an awakening experiance...

    Good call on the lids.

Ok cool I have the blood worms and will start thawing them before feeding to get a spread and get some shrimp pellets too.

i feed mine thawed bloodworms and sinking omega shrimp pellets. they would probably like chopped earthworm too if it was small pieces. as i recall, they do like worms as a natural food source. i have never seen them go after algae tabs if there is something else available, i wouldnt be surprised if they are mainly carnivores
