  • Hydor Koralia in a 90 Gallon Freshwater

Hi guys it's me again the fish newb. I finally have my 90 gallon setup with rocks and a few artificial plants. I currently finished cycling my tank and I put two Platinum Juvenile Angels. Today I got my Hydor Koralia 750 and I installed it. Do you think it is too much current flow for the Angels? I will be adding probably 4 more angelfish. 30 Tetras, 2 fancy plecos, and 8 cory cats. Please help me out with any suggestions. Also, will that be too many fish for a 90 gallon. I will post up a picture. Thanks for the help in advance.

That's a pretty good stocking list for a 90 gallon but it all depends on what kind of filtration you have on the tank. I'd say that's quite a bit of flow for the angels, but if you leave it up at the top with the current parallel to and just under the surface, you should be fine. Just see how the angels do with it... if they're fighting the current hard or start getting torn fins, you may want to reposition it or get a lower flow circ pump.

-- Just saw the pics. Looking good! You may want to arrange the scape for some heavy plant thickets around the back and sides with an open space in the middle. You'll see the best schooling action that way with the tetras, and the angels will also be encouraged to come out without feeling too insecure.

I don't think angles care for current seeings as their always still...but i could be wrong

You're right they don't, but it's still important to have some circulation up top. Just in general, for oxygenation.

I am currently using a Eheim 2217 canister filter. I am going to move the Koralia a little higher. I will also bunch the tall plants into two big groups and leave a open space in the middle. I will update with more pics.

I hope you get the biggest tetras and your angel stay small for a long time. Otherwise, you won't have any tetras .
