why are my fishes rubbing against the sand?

i dont think i will need it for the tank... i can use drinking water for my water changes... maybe next year when i pick up a 40 gallon and stuff...

Depending on the brand of drinking water, it could be nothing more than tap water from another city.

Either way, a test kit is a must for a new tank setup, especially when fish are flashing, gasping, and dying. Otherwise, it's just a blind crapshot, and the fish are the ones who suffer in the end.

probably wont do a water change until 2 weeks... then ill do a 20% change about 5 gallons and replace with drinking water...

It is generally recommended that a 50% water change be performed every week. Good luck.

i did 50% today and it was hell!! lol... but i think i got it pretty much under controll... i bought an air pump and my fishy are fully oxygenated and are showing pretty colors!!! so as far as losing 3 its no biggie.. =DD just a life lesson..

Water changes are very easy with a python style water changer. There are different brands available. I like the Aqueon brand the best.

i have my own way of doing it... very simple and fast... cheap too!! lol 10 dollars 25 foot hose split in half one for output one for input... 10-15 mins done...
