bought these fish over 7 yrs ago and i do not think they are the same species. i know one of them is a male, and i assume the other is a male also ( but of a different species) they look like johannis , but they also look like mainganos. but the dominant male chases the other ( male i guess ) around every day all day long , trying to mate, but the other fish ( the lighter color ) just runs and hide. i have seperated them and then they both become the dominant males ( in seperatfish 207.jpge tanks ) and they both color up dark black and bright blue. but they were sold to me as Maingano's ( BUT NO SUCCESS ) breeding themfish 206.jpg
