All the pictures I posted are of different discus I have owned or currently own. (I've kept discus for more than 15 years, but of course I didn't have a digital camera that long ago - so pictures are probably from the past 7 years). All pictures were taken by me. I've had a lot of different types of discus.

I have more pics, but I got tired of posting. If Dan (formerly of HAW) ever decided to add to this thread, discus would win, but just in number of pictures/variants. There are more petro/troph lovers in fishkeeping. Discus always have been a remarkable fish, but certainly are not for the beginning or casual fishkeeper.

are you saying that trophs and petros are for beginners.i bet you could keep your discus alive a whole lot easier than a colony of longola or kasumbe petros!
            petro crazy!!!

I'll have to take your word on it, since I've never had an interest in petros or trophs - they look so misshapen to me. They look like neaderthal fish, but that is probably what some people like about them. However, after seeing the pictures on this thread, I must admit some of the colors are nice - just not as spectacular as discus.

Not trying to knock Dan or anything cause that dude knows fish like crazy, but he tried to sell tropheus at one time and most of them died on him. He was practically willing to give them away when there were just a few left. Face it, discus are sissy fish for sissy people. They are elegant and colorful, but that's where it stops. Sissy fish y'all. Seriously.

Darbex, you need to post better vids. Looked like you're "fighting males" were just kissing intimately. Kin to Nick maybe..... :) Like I said, Sissy fish.

                  • When did this thread turn to which fish can fight or not.
Its a thread to determine which is king.
Trops/petros maybe able to out fight discus, but discus will out smart trophs/petros.

Why would king fight when he can just sit back & watch all the idots fight among them selves?
