    Also routes in the substrate which get clogged, bulky, hideous piping run through the tank and up the wall, must have a very large pump to have it work efficiently.

          Now wouldn't that destroy whatever closed loop pump you had planned on using?

              rule of thumb was 175-200 gph per jet. problem is the closed loop system doesn't equalize pressure per jet.

              i'm leaning toward pulling the whole thing out and buying a Korrilla 4.

              i'm open to ideas on how to keep poo suspended until filters can do what they do without blowing sand all over the place...

                Use the black propeller from the sureflo kit in the Koralia 4, white prop in the Maxi-jet1200.

                Now you have 2 powerheads that will be pushing well over 1000gph.
