I find most of the time the containers are short in numbers or completely dead.

Guys, it seems to be bit 'non affordable' but its a quite universal thing.
You must try it for your pup and I thin guys having problem with raw food for their pups will feeling

i have bought Dans Frozen and FREEZE Dried Blackworms.. EXCELLENT products!!

i may get some live.. but like fresh supply.. so maybe the smallest batches.. at a time..

Supposedly super worms breed differently from mealworms and the shell of super worms are not as hard to digest compared to meal worms.

I am using mealworms only right now but from the prices Ive seen it might just be easier to buy bulk to feed. So with that decided I have moved onto the next live food I am using which is the nightcrawlers.

Right now I am feeding my tank a mix of...

Tilapia filet
Canadian Nightcrawlers gutloaded with pellets listed below
Superworms gutloaded with the pellets listed below in oatmeal bed with Kens Premium veggie flakes mixed in.

The live foods I am using I really like for the ease of feeding and cause it brings out the savageness of the fish so I want to try and keep bulk on hand.

I raised mealworms and they breed like crazy. I ground oatmeal and put whole carrots in with them. I ground the oatmeal in a blender so it would go through my coarse strainer, so I could easily remove the larger ones. Mealworms are easy if you start with a couple dozen, you can have a enough breeding to feed handfuls each day. I just set up totes with oatmeal and transfer the beetles to a sifted bin. I had a total of four totes and would transfer around the first of the month. You will not be able to keep all of the beetles in one bin, the worms seem to morph faster with no beetles around. All you need is a few tupperware totes, some oatmeal and fresh carrots. An established tote will eat a whole carrot in a few hours. I was told the mealworms die in the freezer then thaw so, they be fed without hurting your fish. I got rid of them, when I went on vacation. The first month is slow, but believe me, if you start with a few dozen mealworms, you will have plenty in a few months. You can find videos on raising mealworms on youtube.

I have heard superworms will eat the baby superworms, but have no experience with them. I think you need to separate superworms when they are changing into beetles, or they will eat the dormant ones.

How do you have your nightcrawlers set up?
Could I use the canadian crawlers?

I read that the euro and red wiggler are easier since they work in room temps which is why I ask. How big are your euros and how large is the colony?

I am feeding about 5-10 large canadian night crawlers a day.

I grow both normal red wigglers and Euro nightcrawlers, and they are breeding like mad for me.
