Live foods??

So no one knows where to get other live foods in a good size bulk locally?

something more cost effective than the tiny tubs of superworms/earthworms

i dont know any place specifically since i havent looked in a while but you would be surprised what you can find in a bait shop

i've never bought black worms, but i get my superworms from Petco, City Pets, Xtreme Fish & Pets and Fish & Pets Unlimited... i get crickets from them also

start digging... My dachshunds dig up earthworms all the time and eat them lol

i was under the impression that they had lungs due to requiring shallow well aeriated water...turns out thats wrong. they breathe through their skin. not sure if that would make them aquatic though.

So these black worms are aquatic. Lumbriculus variegatus is the name I found for them.

thanks for the links EK, i need to get off lazy mode and get some live food cultures going other than the mosquito larvae / water flea aquarium outside. i started that one a week ago and realized that i had forgotten how much the smaller tetras wig out over little creepy crawlies. i guess i got burned out on springtails and FFF for all those dang froglets years ago...i decided i would never again own frogs that cant eat pinhead crickets that i could buy by the crate lol
