Lilmiss - any thoughts on the frequency and size of water changes? On my other tanks I usually do about 25% weekly.

WC's do about 2x per week, at least 1x is a must for healthy happy fishes. And 10-25% is plenty as long as the tank is not overstocked. As the babies get bigger, you will need to do WC's about every other day of 10-25%.

Yes, but I wish she had waited until I was ready.... I am busier than a one armed paper hanger.

Just leave the babies in there...the strong ones will swim away from danger, and the moms will learn that the babies are not food. Feed, watch, enjoy!

I bought two females with a "mighty" bulge. On one, you can see the eyeballs. I will definitely have babies in the next few days.

How long do livebearers typically hold sperm?

I went to Petco yesterday and got a very gravid Neon Swordtail. The moment I put her in my tank she gave birth. Will she do it again without a male?

They can hold for up to 5 drops of babies, average is 2.
