They are not done.. they will spawn again. A good sized water change will make their day and usually within a few days of a good sized water change, you will see them at it again.

I have also read around that doing a lot of water changes and making the new water colder than the water they are currently in, as well as lowering the pH of that water helps. Supposedly its suppose to simulate the rainy season which is when most spawn.

Sorry guys for the lack of updates. I have some pretty bad news. Since the last update, everything has been a disaster....

Sad to say a lot of them didn't make it. I'm down to like 10 or so individuals.
The toughest thing was transitioning from BBS to processed food. I've tried gradual transition, but just refused to eat anything else other than BBS even though they outgrew them. I tried frozen daphnia which are larger but they just refuse to eat it. I'm baffled....... Even pickier than discus.....

I'll take any advice if anyone has any....

The remaining ones are now on grindal worms, but i can't produce enough to keep them going.

The adults unfortunately have started to die of old age. Perhaps i'll try lowering the temperature so they don't grow & die so fast. I lost the 2 females i have so i'm currently on a hunt for more females. I picked some up from HAW a while back but they are still too young to sex.

Sorry Derbex... i might have to give you a raincheck for the rams till the next batch... but i do have some young discus if you want... and those are definitely eating pellets.

Sorry to hear, I was hoping this would be the first major success for breeding Electric Blue Rams.

hey man. if you get them breeding again I really want fry badly. I have been looking for these fish for a long time. when I first saw them i was on vacation for 2.5 weeks so there was no way I could buy them and keep them while on vacation. when I back home I couldn't find anyone selling them. when i finally did everyone sold out right away. I even send money out and the guy returned it because the fish sold out so fast. and that was paypal.. So i have been on the hunt for almost 6 months now. Get those fish breeding again.

also here's a little tid bit for ya. when your feeding the frys and they have to go to the next stage of food. I usually start a little early so they get used to it. feed them the decapsulated brine shrimp. I was breeding german blue rams about 2 years ago. when I was feeding the frys baby brine shrimp I think it was after like 3 weeks old I was pre-soaking the decaps for a while and then throwing a very little in. as the fish got bigger by the next or so day i threw in a little more. but make sure you soak it in another container using the tank water. from what I have learned that sometimes the decaps will expand in the fishes stomach killing them about an hour after feeding...

                                Whomever got the ram fry-
Did they ever become electric blue, like the parents?

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
