  • How to cap pre-drilled holes

Not sure I'm putting this in the right area but here goes. Anyways I recently bought another 90 gal tanks that was pre-drill but unlike my other tanks the holes are drill in the bottom right corner as opposed to the center of the bottom glass and it doesn't work with the stand I had built so now I'm just gonna cap it but not sure the best method to use any help would be greatly appreciated and will post pictures tonight for those that "need proof" LOL

He kept them? What a cheapskate! He should've included it in the sale of the tank. You could always silicone a piece of glass/acrylic around the hole for a more somewhat permanent solution.

well in moving the tank one completly broke off so he gave me a fantastic discount plus he moved out of state and didn't want to move it so I pretty much got it for free well I helped him load the moving truck but pretty much got the tank filters and lids for free

Something flat and about the same thickness of the glass or more.

Edit: If you're gonna be siliconing whatever you plan to use to cover up the hole, you wouldn't want anything plastic like or something that'll break if you knock on it or accidentally hit it.

That would be the cheapest way to go. City Pets sells new bulkheads if you want to temporarily cap the holes so that you can run canisters through the bottom if you wanted to.

That could work if the fit is good.

yeah thats what I'm thinking but it has to fit tight but it's a work in progress I realize that this isn't gonna be a tank that gets set-up tomorrow

It doesn't have to be super tight, as long as the plug flange sits well on the glass you'll be fine if the silicone application is good.
