    Sunny, if this doesn't work out, John Crowder made some mesh algae plates that he put in his sump with a light on them. They worked great and he was able to rotate them for a steady algae supply.

      Thanks Mark, I looked at that option (made a reference to it as "algae scrubber a la fshfrk" in the OP) but it's not viable for me right now

                              Im just a thinking with that much light reflecting it might grow on the glass faster then the rocks
