Sodium bisulfite will remove the oxygen from your water(prime,safe and amquell plus) among others. Specially if you have drained 75 percent of the water and dump in a enough for the whole tank. I would rather introduce the dechlorinater as I fill the tank. With the nozzel hitting the water at the same spot as the replacement water. When the tank is full the container with the declorinater is just getting empty. The air valve on the end adjusts the flow.I fill the container up with tank water and add Safe. Safe is the dry form of prime. The pvc is to stir it. With Safe you use 1 tsp per 50 gallons. Safe also handles the free ammonia. Just check out the first 3 vid's
