OK, so update. Tanks has been stabalized again. My friend who cleaned and rebuilt my regulator said the regulator itself was fine. The soleniod valve is still the prime suspect as it had some crud in it. I have added some test shrimp into the tank (cherries) and they are doing good. So I am out looking for cherries and amano shrim and nerite snails (zebra I hope) If any of you still have some let me know.

What brand regulator? I had a co2 dump on my tank a few weeks ago too. Mine was a JBJ model. Culprit was the needle valve. Oh well, live and learn. My loss was considerably smaller than yours though.

No problem Old Man :) I wish we took photos while we were setting that up (I forgot my camera). That and the stems were longer, but it will grow in very nicely and be a great tank. I really like the light that you got for that tank. Make sure you post some pics of that as well so the 'boxers can see it.

Check valve is in place and I confirmed it was working. No water In the regulator. A little crud was in the solenoid which supports my theory. Did a good water change and as I feared everything died. Not even a lone survior.

Thanks to all who have offered to donate shrimp and snails. Let me get my perameters back up before I hit you up for them.

I'm sorry, as well. That's awful.

Surprising that the nerites are gone, too. :( They can usually get out of the water if needed - I've unfortunately found a few on the floor that are long gone - found them when I was moving.

This really sucks. Hope you can figure out what happened.

    That sux, man.

I've got some cherries you can have if you want.

Do you have a good check valve in the line? Did you find water in the regulator?

I was thinking "end of tank dump" too but if the tank is still half full...

tank is still half full, so empty tank is ruled out. Needle valve seem fine. My wife said we had a minor power outage to day, my thought is that maybe it was clogged downstream from the solenoid, and once recharged it powered the clog on thru. That is just theory. Just a major pain. To be on the safe side I will replace the regulator (I have on laying around) and get a buddy of mine to do a rebuild and cleaning on it.

Roujin, I might hit you up on the shrimp. Let me get the tank reset first. I think I still have your number.

Sorry to hear that Kevin. Let me know what I can do to help. Was it the regulator? A seal?

I got some RCS if you need to re-establish.

    started a topic CO2 woes

    CO2 woes

OK, so I have had myCO2 set for months now with no problem. Today I get home and for some reason the CO2 is blasitng out of the regulator and overdosed my tank. All of the cherry shrimp (100+), zebra nerites (20), o-cats(10) and checkerboard barbs (50) are gone. What a day.

Will get a water change done due to dead fish and get the tank reset and then try to replace the fish.
Working...
