No holes in the bottom, just the back, below the substrate line.
There's a heating cable under the substrate, like the kind they put under floors. Four holes in n the back, air, air, heater cable, and CO2. i ordered a clear lily pipe and intake tube for the canister filter.

Interesting, man I hope the failure issues are over for you. I really do. I want to see this tank really running.

Check that out. That's pretty cool. Is there a risk with the sand and decor sitting on it?

For now it has little 2" oscars, electric blue acaras, and I'm looking for some outstanding green terrors.
When I find a good deal on a 75G or bigger, they will move out.
Then I'll put in 5 angels, 5 German blue rams and a school of neon tetras.
I'm growing out a lawn of dwarf hairgrass belem (a very short tight variety) for it now. I'll start moving in plugs in about a month. Then I'll add 3 red tiger lotus.
By the time all that is grown in i should have all the bugs worked out and have it balanced enough to start swapping out the angels for discus.
It's a game of patience, but the rotation will keep it interesting.

Sounds good. I think you can find some really good quality Green Terror at FishLand. Everytimes I stop by, they always have new stock and they all look very nice.

I like where your going with the tank. Trying to get a better idea of it so yeah a pic would be great. I believe if my memory is working(normally isn't), but traci has an article in one of the tabs at the top of the website that lists step by step how to post pics. Or you can pm me a number to text and I'll post them for you.

I'd get my hands on a 2217 since I know hydor will work on those all day long.

So the new part for the heater didn't work? That's sucks.

It's cool. I wasn't offended. More like, "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout CHEAP?"
Man, somebody's selling a 2217 in here but I can't contact him. When I hit the message icon and send him a note it says I'm not authorized. When I go to his profile and send a message from there, it comes to ME! This site is bizarre. And that Tapatalk app is shady as hell, all trying to get me to link up to facebook and everything else and sign away what's left of my privacy. Oh huh-uh. Sorry. Had to rant For a second.

There inbox may be full. Post up in the fish market that your looking for a 2217. You get people contacting you.

Oddysea = cheap. I've used there stuff before and swore it would never enter my home again. The best things they make are lights and power heads. But even then, there is much better stuff for just a little more $$.
There tanks are known for busting because of the design some had. Curved corners. Many have had them for years with no problem, then one day the seals give way and the entire front of the tank falls off. That's why I got rid of mine, a month after I got it.

Once you get past all of this it will be easy street.

Have you seen The Fish and Pets Ranch by Almeda mall?
                              Wow.
Great fish, great prices, great people.
They're a little short in the Africans dept. but everything else is cool.
They had some FINE green terrors a few weeks ago, but I didn't have space for them.
