    Re: FX5 Not Working

Odd you mention the sand Geoff, when I took the FX off the tank last night to change the filter pads, there was a small amount of coral sand in the bottom of the FX.

Thanks Loretta for making two trips down there for me.

    Jesper,

I was thinking of getting the Eheim, but david told me they just sold it this past weekend. They only had the FX5 left, as far as large canister's go.

          2.  The 2262 uses a 1262 pump rated at 900 gph vs the 2260 which uses a 1260 pump running at about 600 gph.

I'm no rocket scientist but with the two things you stated wouldn't that make them different?

I wonder if the except for got missed in the above statement EK  :!:

What I was referring to size and volume of media (18L or about 4.75G) which is important in regards to the bio and chem load.  Both the 2260 and 2262 are beasts when it comes to the amount of media load in comparison to the FX5, but who is counting.  Again EK... reading English is required to comment

Well it says there is No difference....except for...

Isn't that like a double negative or something like that? How can something have no difference but yet has differences?

                      The 2260 and 2262 differences...

2262 - comes with double tapet block valves, and the 1262 pump (900 gph)

2260 - no valves, and comes standard with 1260 pump (635 gph)

                      What's the same...
18L, 1" intakes, 5/8" outtakes.  You can buy the 2260 canister and retrofit a 1262 pump on it with no problem.
They have the exact same dimensions.

                        Re: FX5 Not Working

Steve use a screwdrive to disassemble the pump clear out the sand from the pump cavity and clean out the bottom of your canister.

You might want to raise your intake some.

I bet that is your problem.

When you re-tighten the pump do so evenly on the screws so you dont "****" the pump case into the canister fit.  This can cause leaks.
