It appears to me the price for Fluval FX5 and Eheim 2260 are about the same at $300 (please let me know if you know source of better price. Â I need to learn how Ebay work.)
A few concerns about these two filters.
1. Â FX5 has 950gph flow rate. Â Does it mean it got clog up sooner and need to be clean up more often than the filter with less gph?
2. Â I have Eheim 2213, 2217, Rena air 300, and Emperor 400. Â Both Eheim are quiet. Rena and Emperor make obvious noise. Â I saw a post saying FX5 is about 43 decibels (average home sound is about 40-50 dB, but what is an average home sound like? Â 8O .) Â Is FX5 considered quiet filter? Â Can somebody compare the noise level among Eheim classic, FX5, and Emperor 400?
3. Â Does Eheim 2260 come with all the needed parts and media in the package?
4. Â If you can pick only one filter for free to be used in your tank, which one will you pick FX5 or 2260?
5. Â Any other positive / negative experience with these two filters? Â
Thank you for sharing.
