55g stand modification question

Hi i got this problem trying to put a sump in a 55g stand the sump wont fit cause a middle board on the back of the stand , i saw some stand dont have it , there is a way to remove without compromise the safety of the stan and structure or reinforced in another part. thanks

That 2 by 4 definitely helps with the weight capacity of the stand. Only option I see is to remove the doors or leave them open or get a smaller sump. If you are sure you want the sump and the doors, then remove the tank, cut the 2 by 4 off and add two on opposite sides away from the sump.

Moganman's suggestion is exactly what I did on my 55 stand. I took out the middle 2x4, figured out where I wanted the sump to be and put a new 2x4 on each end of where the sump sits leaving a few inches of space between the sump and the 2x4s.

Leave the brace there and take the peices off that are atached to the door and that should solve the problem. Not saying anything abour your measurinf skills but if you put two new braces and one is longer than the other the tank will not be on a level plane
