  • Cleaning aquarium glass

I was wondering if anyone here uses windex to clean the glass on your aquariums or do you just wipe it down with a water moist towel?

I use windex. I spray onto the towel as opposed to the glass though.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

oh ok cause i've heard people not using windex cause it "messes up the glass" i was thinking what so special about tank glass and a coffee table glass besides the thickness

i dont see how it could mess up glass, it will mess up your fish if the spray gets inside which is why i shoot the towel away from the tank. a tip for streak free glass, use newspaper instead of paper towels!

I think the concern is with acrylic? also what the bro said above about killing your fish.

and the reason not to was cause it destroys the glass?

"cause it messes up the glass" it was a oceanic bow front. not sure if they sue some "special" glass for those tanks but who knows

I would stop taking advice from that guy then.

didnt really take his advice since im still cleaning with windex. i was just wondering if aquarium builders might use some special stuff on certain glass or whatever.
