                        Looks like for ammonia, nitrate and nitrite the reagents are the same for FW and SW. The individual kits say so right on the front. Ph is different for SW and FW. I retract my original post... yes, you can use the nitrate test for both.

                          test your tap water with the strips and kit see if you get different results

                                Or you could get some dry frets form one of the plant people on here and make a solution that you know is 40ppm or 10ppm and test the kiss accuracy that way
