Purigen

What bag do y'all use for your purigen? I think the bag i tried was 300 micron(possibly 500) and when I went to rinse it in the sink I noticed little grits of sand like material coming out of the bag. Is that purigen coming out of the bag bc the holes are too big?

You recharge it when you want to. Judge by how dark the purigen is.

I would like to know how often I need to renew Purigen it on a aqua with peat.
I am not interested on the thing, if I need to stop and open my eheim filter 15 days.

hell no, I think the fx5 sucks arse with any kind of mechanical media, gonna strip them down and stuff them with matrix only.

I plan on switching out my fx5 and modding them to run only media, then maybe 2L of the regular matrix in the reactor but mod it to deprive o2 then the rest of the 20L bucket goes into the wet/dry.

Yeah there's a liter in there, just gotta run low flow so it actually fluidizes.

You're running 1L in that reactor?! I have the pm sr35p i can barely fit in 1L. I probably running 500g right now

Its not really adjustable perse but it does have this booboo plate that blocks the output some, its not precise but the secondish click from the lowest setting. This is with about 2' of hose from the pump to the reactor and 1L of media.

I'm still running the nextreef, it didn't come with a pump but I'm using the mini-jet404 to run it.

I love the nextreef but from my experience any higher dollar acrylic reactor is good.

i looked up the mini jet 404 and its adjustable, what flowrate do you have it set at?

ah, cool...i saw the nextreef in city pets with a pump for 90 but was thinking of picking one up and using an alternate pump myself...how much purigen did you recommend for proper fluidization?
