Does anyone know if the fluval fx5 on amazon that is like $220 comes with media?

I bought an fx5 months ago that came with media. It was a package deal put together by amazon. Save yourself some money and go with something cheaper to fill it up. I got a really good deal on substrat pro at FG and filled mine with it, but I just got a brand new XP4 that I can squeeze under my stand and I think I'm going to try lava rock in it.Comment

You can get a 4L of Seachem Matrix for $31.00 at Petmountain . You really don't need 4L because the FX5 comes with six sponges that work as mechanical and biological filtration . I have my FX5s' setup with a liter of Matrix in in two of the trays ...and the 1 tray has a bag of Purigen . (As my boi EK would say " the magic beans") I've went three weeks without a water change and I still had zero ammonia and very low nitrates . This tank was full of Tropheus .Comment

I forgot about Seachems Matrix. I would look into getting some of that to fill your fx5. Or the pond version. Amazon has pretty good prices.Comment
