      Thats funny I was just looking at this thing on marinedepot and contemplated it but dont want to spend the money right now.

                      Yeah, it's basically a super fancy power head with a lot of custom flow patterns built into the brain. You can set up a master/slave combo with two or more power heads and the master controls all the slaves. The back up battery is optional but it's the main reason I got the vortechs for my tank. Can't have another IKE and end up losing all my fishes.

                        Dang baller didnt know you already have the vortech. What do you have the MP40? How many?

                              It depends on how high you turn the powerheads up. The MP40w are fully adjustable from 1k to 3.2k gph. At full blast it will go 36 hours with no power. I only run mines at 50% so I'm hoping to get 60-70 hours off one battery.

                              Also, they designed the batteries so that you can "stack" them or link the batteries together. So depending on how much batteries you want to buy....it can go a very very long time.
