anybody else see the nov. issuse of TFH yet. if you have a subscription its already on TFH digital. there is a good article on why 70%+ water changes weekly are the best option for your tank.

    Boy..but without a python, 70% WC's via 5gal bucket would suck....

Use a garden hose and dump prime in there while you are filling up. I'm doing 70-80% weekly on 5 tanks 55g and larger.

you dont need a python just a hose/tubing would work ... and on larger tanks a 1"+ hose/tubing for draining is awesome!

I am unsure about getting away with weekly changes with discus. I do 70% every other day.

this shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone that is a regular on HFB. people have been praising these large water changes for sometime...but for those that need evidence it is now published.

I use a 1" hose drained out the door takes about 10 min on my 140 then I fill with my python now that takes some time since I run it through a carbon filter. Refill takes about 2+ hours depends on how lazy I am. If I am feeling lazy then I speed it up and dump in Prime.
