geoff speaks the truth i was going to say the same thing...also the eheim pro models are good and easy to clean..but rena for setup and cleaning is the easiest for me...i ran a xp2 on a 20 gallon and it worked well...right now i have it setup on a 55gallon with a eheim 2028 and they do great..fx5 are good and not to hard to clean and they are self priming but $220 for a 30 gallon setup might be more than you want to spend and they inlet and outlet tubes would look really ugly on such a small tank when putting a canister filter on a small tank you really need to look at hoses and lines and how they will look.anyway i hope this helps..
210 gallon tank...empty.....wait till you see what is coming

guess I could fry some..just a hassle when there is only one person to eat them...although my dog does love leftovers.

Another great thing about Fluval is that if you get one, in a year you will have spare parts for those in need.

Jacob, this FX5 I purchased from you 6 months ago, no matter how much I clean it, it does not flow as good as my other 4-FX5's

I think you got a bum unit. I still use it, but for some reason its got a problem.

I love Rena and Eheim. The only Fluval I would ever buy (again) is the FX5. I prefer the FX5 over the 2260

REna is OK, Eheim is too expensive.

Eheim without a doubt. I have used them exclusively after discovering them back in the eighties. The only issue I have ever had was a loss of output with the classic cannister but that was before I learned to properly clean the impeller. Just picked up a Pro III 2080 today, I am amazed at how silent it operates while filtering such a large volume of water. I can also attest to the silence of their Wet/Dry models. Silence and Wet/Dry are seldom synonomous, but the 2227 is absolutely silent.
