Good point, blacksmith. Some water treatment plants add phosphates as buffers, also. I'm still researching the carbon question.

Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Thanks all for all the replies. I have been camping the whole weekend so this was the first time I could read the posts. My test kit is only a year old so that shouldnt be the issue. I hadnt retested it today. But the night I left I tested my tank water and it said it was at .25 ppm so I did a water change and had to leave. Maybe there is an issue with my test kit though. I run my tap water through my DIY carbon filter. I am just worried since there is a lot of money in my Discus. I am going to try another test tonight and maybe get a new kit. I noticed a couple of them starting to flash on the plants which is either water params or external parasites.
