Idk I'll have to look more into it
i have made large paludariums this way with no problems, but then they werent full of water so i am not sure how they seams would hold the stress unless you got fancy and finger jointed them.

i often wondered about finding an old water drinking fountain and trying that. its probably a similar setup to a fridge but might require less tinkering with since its already plumbed.

hmmm... I thought I saw trev post up some pure Leos, guess I didn't pay much attention since they are way out of my price range and for other obvious reasons.

I have noticed that most pics/vids of rays make them seem a lot bigger than they actually are or at least the ones I have seen in person after seeing pictures but I agree... handling or coming near them is a bit intimidating and makes your heart skip a few beats.

i have handled rays at a zoo before, they are pretty dang strong for sure. no one ever seemed concerned about getting hit though.

i am not sure, i was working in herps primarily so that was just a one time deal. i wouldnt be surprised if they were not, zoo types dont like dismanteling the critters even for their own safety. these were for a petting zoo type thing in the dallas zoo though....

I think I remember one of the guides there mentioning the ones in the petting tanks are de-barbed... I would hope they are.

we were working with dendrobatadid frogs and bitis gabonica vipers mainly. for instance, there was ongoing research into why basilisk lizards would eat d. auratus like there was no tomorrow but would ignore d. leucomelas entirely so we had a good breeding program for those among others. i had d. tinctorius, d. azureas and e. bicolor going as well. they also had over 50 young gaboon vipers that they were using to research just how accurately they could locate and strike prey in complete darkness. gorgeous little guys but definately not debarbed lol. i also volunteered for the phyllomedusine frogs and phelsuma geckos whenever i could since those are favorites of mine.
