what locale of cyprichromis do you keep?  I keep Utinta and Kitumba, in seperate tanks of course :)

Well...this is what it looks like currently with the cyp. leptsoma and occelatus. Yup. Looks empty. I swung by Aqua Zoo today, and remembered that it is closed on Mondays.

i have 6 syn. eupterus but they prefer softer and more acidic water than the tangs...

As for the giraffe cat, i doubt he would get along well with the shellies (especially as he gets bigger ). I'm gonna get one for another tank though.

im sure you can adapt them, i have clown loaches with my frontosa's and the are doing great! i plan to try and add one to my tank later on. i forgot about your shellies and think the giraffe cat would end up eating them.

Really impressed with the tanks guys, I am HAPPY!!! Wish I had as much time to devote to my tanks as you all do... current job keeps me very occupied, as long as my syn eupterus is doing good that is all that matters to me....

Fish ranch has some nice looking baby pertocola but they were like 20 bucks a pop, an you know i love cool cats

sounds likes a plan. start growing some hecqui out then. I currently have some occelatus and cyps but have no problem relocating the occies to a smaller tank. I was thinking about getting some syn. petricola later this week as well... any thoughts guys (and gals)?

Neolamprologus Leleupi and Neolamprologus cylindricus usually don't work well with shelldwellers.  If you want shelldwellers in the tank, I'd go with the larger more aggressive shellies like L. Hecqui.  Leleupi are known to pull the females out of the shells to get to the fry.  This sometimes fatally wounds the female shellies.  Shellies like Hecqui are more than capable of handling themselves verse most Tangs.

If you have trouble locating the larger shellies, just let me know and I can grow some Hecqui out.  They grow fast compared to most Tangs.

geoff - i;m going to do that when I have a chance. I like the idea of leaving alot of big rocks and having a portion with lots of caves. I did my first water change on it yesterday. maybe i'll take a pic....
