I got my escargot shells from Cost Plus World Market.  There's one on 1960/Champion Forest I think.  20 for like $8 or something like that.  A steal if u ask me.  If u want genuine neothauma shells, Ultimate Fish up on 2920 sells them sometimes.  Give them a call.

I got my shells from Hobby Lobby inside of a large "decorator's basket". I was only able to use about 25% of them, but I only paid $3 for a decorator's basket. While they are not from lake Tang, They seem to work pretty well. I had a pair form and start fiercely defending one of the shells. Seems to be working. I may have to do something about this though... I think it was Adiemus that pointed it out... the leleupi are a bit aggressive to the occies while they are defending their territory.

hey tim,  what type of shells do you have for your occies? are they the ones from lake tang or random shells?

i plan to stick to tangs and plants now and since the 20L wouldnt look so good with plants i decided tangs and shellies are probably all i can put in there.

Ya 20L's not much space, but I have a female leleupi, a juvie comp, a syno multipunctatus, an occelatus pair, and a pleco all living in harmony in a 20L.  Actually, sometimes my male and female occelatus decide to "break up", but they usually get back together within 2 days or so.  Relationships can be hard sometimes...

Yes, I got my occelatus (and cyps) from Mike. They are doing quite well and are a blast to watch moving their shells around and defending their territory when anybody else comes close.

There is currently a 4-5' female frontosa in the tank as well. I'm thinking about finding a group for him do join. I have no idea what type, but am sure that it is a "common" variety. How do you tell the difference?

what time did you go to aquazoo that day?

i went one day and saw the sign as well, something about going to the doctor. when i read that i didnt bother sitting around and took off to tropical emporium to check them out.

about your occelatus, did you get those from mike? im thinking about redoing the suppose to be zebra tank into a little shellie tank since im having bad luck with getting them here.

I actually called aquazoo last saturday to pick up their s. petricola. After driving 50+ miles, i was greeted with a sign that said that there was an emergency. needless to say, i was ticked off. the sign said that they would be back ASAP... so i waited for 2 hours. nobody ever came back. I wasted lots of gas going down there, and am not planing on making the trip back there any time soon. I know that it isn't their fault.

As for the leleupis - all three re going quite well! gonna get a few more...

Armthehomeless, you've seen the syn. multipunctatus at Aquazoo? Some of those may do well with your Tangs.

I'll admit that I have been tempted by tropheus on more than one occasion, Geoff!

That cyps.leptsoma variety that I have are utinta.

I'm staying away from the fronts. It seems like everyone has them. I'll probably sell my large female front in the near future.

My comps are in the african tank still.

The tank looks freakin' awesome man.  Now, you need to put all this non-sense aside, and get about 60 Tropheus to go in there!  

6-8 Petricola would make a really nice addition.
