The cheap rustoleum satin black brush on paint looks really nice and the fumes/smell is minimal if you decide to just brush on.
    the protective enamel stuff?

ordering 500ml of purigen on amazon soon...(25.22+2day free shipping love amazon prime!!!)

    Tell me about it!

I went to buy parts to make a circulation set up to constantly keep my wet/dry filtration going even when the return pump is shut off and even bought extra parts and still had to go back.

Even bought parts to set up my water filling pump for my CRS/Planted tank and ended up having to sacrafice those parts for the above project.

Did you make that? Looks good let me know how it turns out.

I would open the doors and windows and have a buddy help me and scoot the tank out a bit, just enough room to paint it. Put some liners on the ground so you don't get paint on the floor. And paint it with latex paint like EK suggested. You will be much happier with a painted background than one that is taped on and it will look cleaner.

You could paint with a roller and it would be just as good.

use a latex paint and it'll peel off later if needed.
