Some of these newer pesticides are much more stable, so even if it has been months, it does not mean that it has degraded from the surface of the rocks. For example, some insect sprays now contain fipronil, which is also used in Frontline flea spray and topspot flea control for dogs and cats. Frontline has a claim that their product is not easily washed off by bathing, so that means it would just as easily remain on a surface intact and not easily washed off. Just a thought.Originally posted by mark razmandi View Postall the pesticides are in bottles that havent been used in months and they are in the back of the garage. Even if there was overspray on the rocks, it wouldnt hurt the fish.PLECOS SUCK!

No, it's a dialog. You talk, I talk, Nick talks, Brian talks, Mike talks, MB talks, etc. We share ideas, experiences, possibilities, maybe we learn stuff, you know...it's what people do on a forum. Our Fishhouse

Why even bring up the pesticides then? We are trying to rule things out for Brian. Don't get defensive over a plot point you brought up please. We are only trying to help and share experiences to avoid future tragedies like this. Thank you.PLECOS SUCK!

you were talking about pesticides on the rocks when pesticides were never near or sprayed anywhere around the rocks. so that makes it irrelevant and frivolous information. If there was a problem with maybe fumes that can leak through the bottle then there might have been a problem which is exactly why i brought it up. But by creating an incident that never even took place, that rules out nothing but create a situation out of nothing. Thank you.I make people happy

No incident was ever created. Only an explanation of how stable some pesticides can be IF that was the case. There is absolutely no reason for you to be defensive. NONE.Originally posted by mark razmandi View PostBut by creating an incident that never even took place, that rules out nothing but create a situation out of nothing. Thank you.PLECOS SUCK!

Nick, I appreciate the information you shared. If it's not helpful to Brian, then I'm sure it'll be helpful to someone else who runs into the same problem and can't rule out pesticides.
So, thank you for the info. Our Fishhouse
