          • Some feeding vids... water is murky though, was fiddling with the sump and replaced a few pads without turning it off.

              • Me neither, working that is not.
Kingwood is my location, everyone is far away.
All fish stores are far away.

                • Dang, that sucks... I saw the little photobucket/youtube icon or tag insert deal in the reply box and figured "neat".

                  Let me fix it.

                    • At first I thought this was how they all ate.... after seeing how shy a lot of others trophs are and how most don't go near the top of the tank I think it's something else now.

Every colony I have had did this.

                        1. How long do you keep your lights on everyday?
                        2. How many feedings and how much per feeding?
                        3. How much water is lost with open-tops/MH lights per day?
                        4. Did your friends flake on the Tunze yet?

Tank looks disgustingly green (with envy) nice btw.
                        Experiencing an aquatic renaissance!

                            1. I keep them on for about 9hrs a day which gives me viewing time when I get home from work in the morning and before I go to work in the evening. Now on the weekends I tend to leave it on longer.

                            2. I am feeding 12x a day and about 1/3 a level tsp. Slowly cutting back on the feedings cause I might be going on vacation for a week or two and plan to barely feed them during that time. Before I was feeding 20x a day and still occassionally throwing strips of Nori or PE Mysis shrimp in the tank.

                            3. Hmmm... between the open tops, MH, surface agitation, wet/dry and cooling fan I lose maybe a gallon at most a day. I keep the house about 70-73 which helps a great deal. This is really nothing for what's on the tank, my 30g reef tank would lose about 5g a week.

                            4. No but he just came back from Paris and I'm positive he's gonna pick it up. If not I will let you know but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yeah the algae is a bit in the tank but I tried to grow it lush on the back wall to kinda "soften" the black background cause it's killing the Ilangi's colors but the blue is an eyesore. I don't scrape the back at all and it's growing uneven and the algae on the rocks I think gives it a nice look.

I meant I took in the way they ate as the norm but now I see through everyone else's troph's feeding behaviour it has to be effected by other influences, possibly surroundings or comfort level.
