Lack of zoom is a pain but other wise very nice with a 1.4x

Combine it with a D800 and crop and it is awesome!

I have a D90 so no teleconverters unless I want to manual focus. So I am waiting till I get a new body with the newer F/8 auto focus.

Thoughts on 300/2.8 + Tele?

Good combo but I think it will be a big heavy for birding. I think the new 80-400 is a better birding lens since its lighter.
