Picked up a used D200 with grip today off CL. Looked into various setups and decided this was the best one for the asking price. Still looking for a fair utility lens so I can do glamor shots of my fishies.

I prefer the 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 as a fish lens/ everyday lens but some people like the 60mm f2.8. All comes down to preference I guess.
Canon or Nikon, can't go wrong with either or. I would avoid the 18-55 vr unless you can get it for dirt cheap like 50 bucks.

18-55 is best used as a paper weight.
I started with the 50/1.8f. I still use it on fish shots. Its a great group shot lens for fish.
You can also try the 50/1.4f. I tried Jim's and its a low light beast. Bokeh looks nice too.I ate my fish that died.

Since this is a DX body, should I worry about "crop factor" when picking up any of these lenses?
