The 70-300 is my only non kit lens it is the one i use the most. It was a open box buy at best buy it was half price so i couldn't resist getting it.

70-300 is actually a really good lens. Only prob is it requires lots of light, only really useful on bright sunny days. But I've seen some work done with the 70-300g that is insane.
I think you should look into either a flash or 35mm f1.8, 50mm f1.8 or sb600. Flash will make all your lenses look better.Comment

I love my 70-300 for taking pictures outside. Not so good indoors. Ive actually been looking at the 35mm 1.8 I like the price lol. I will probably get that lens to learn with, oh and a flash. sb700 doesn't look like it will break the bank.Originally posted by soymilk View PostComment

+1 on flash. 70-300 needs alot of light, but in my opinion is a worthless lens without image stabilizing. Had one with out and hated it. Next for me is the 70-200 L I believe.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕComment

My 70-300 has the vr stabilizing. ive turned it off before and shot pictures without a tripod. I will never do that again.Comment

VrI or vrII? I'm debating if I wanna spend the money for the vrII. I see good condition vrI going for 1300. The difference in price is a zeiss 50mm f1.4 ZF.Comment
