Nikon and canon are both very competitive so both brands are good.

I would if I was using it for fish, it will be used for that inevitably, but primarily it will be used for outdoor photography.

The D800 is a really nice camera. I've only had it about 3 weeks so still learning it..
It puts my D300 to shame in low light.
