      "Nice Thread" lol

Yeah my dad told me I was ugly and I told him, "I got it from you." He slapped the pretty back on my face and then started laughing. My dad is a Marine.

They sure aren't. My friend had a baby last year and posted on facebook that his baby was born ugly.

yeah i had that happen to me the other day on another forum. someone asked about oddysea fixtures. i told them what i thought, and that is that you should expect to change the bulbs immediately and that the ballast is crap. turns out he had already bought one and i got blasted for hurting feelings. sure i have bought one before when it meant i could get a tank going a few weeks sooner but i knew i was on borrowed time and finally decided that i can get a better quality fixture with better lamps for about the same cost as an oddysea + new lamps. dont ask if you dont wanna know and knights in shining armor can stick to the princess forum.

Now I see why no one replys about my pictures. Just kidding....
Most people teach there kids. If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Well can you find a way to say, (Da^^, thats one butt ugly kid...) in a nice way? Have you ever seen a friend with some girl and thought, (What the #_!!) and he thinks she is Miss Un.... How do you tell him last time she had a date it was 50 bikers in a parking lot?? some times there is no nice way.
Being Polite can take you a long way but in real life it just doesn't work...

If I say Nice fish I really like the Fish SP.
If I say Nice tank. Maybe I see something you don't. It may not be in the picture it self. just the thought, they are trying.

Are they doing it wrong? if they are and you know it, say something. in a nice way. (That may not work well.)(You should try ? )
But Don't Just tell them. (Your Girlfriend is an Ugly B*^@&.)

Becuase all the Clubs are here. Some people are being polite to try to fit-in. To find people they can be social with. maybe even choose a club by the people they know in it.

                      Just a thought...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all- what makes a tank look nice is pretty subjective. If I compliment, it's because I genuinely like it, but I try to be specific because I rarely like EVERYTHING about someone else's tank, you know?

If I think a tank looks like total crap, and they seem happy with it, I usually won't say anything. What's the point? If it DOES look like they are trying to learn, are asking opinions, or whatever- I will say what I think in the kindest way possible. I think that's just general politeness, but how I criticize does come from being a parent, I think- open with a compliment, or what they are doing RIGHT, then make constructive criticism..."I love that piece of wood, but some background plants would really set it off...and have you thought about a background? It would make it look a lot cleaner..." etc, etc.

But do I give a "GOOD JOB!!" to something crappy, just because? No. I don't do that with my kids, either!
