thanks for the thoughts sunrise. the iso is the problem but i cant go any lower with the amount of light on this tank. i tried everything i could to get the settings as best as possible. also that is a cropped shot thats another reason it looks so grainy.

This is a nice picture! You may be limited by the 3.5 aperture of the lens your using though. A lower aperture ( more light) may be beneficial for pictures of this style. The depth of field would be greater with a smaller aperture. If the ISO used in this picture is high, try using a lower ISO to reduce the graininess if possible. sunrise
