Yeah the setting you got are right on. I have a mode called C1 and C2, I have set C1 to Tv mode to 1/100 and 3200. I use C1 mainly for the 200g tank, it has the most intense light. The lens is a 28-135mm zoom stock kit lens.

Because many of them were using Canon before Nikon switched to the same sensorOriginally posted by jeebus View PostThat's Canon's speciality - high ISO/low noise. That's why all your sports photographers on the sidelines are rocking Canons.
Also now a days, you can't tell which are Nikon or Canon on the sidelines sometimes due to also being able to get the same color lens from Nikon.
Of course, we have not talked about noise reduction internally.

I was surprised by that myself. But I do know that his camera as well as yours is suppose to be good about handling noise.Originally posted by myjohnson View PostSurprisingly high. I would think at 3200, the image would have more noise.
Jim, are those numbers correct on your picture? 135mm at 1/100 ƒ5.6 (zoom lense is my assumption) with that high of an ISO and no flash
I checked this with another program that I prefer more than firefox for reading EXIF
The photo I like the most has the following specs:
Exposure Time: 1/200 sec
F-Number: f/5.0
Exposure Program: Shutter Priority
ISO Speed Rating: 3200
Lens Aperture: f/5.0
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash, Compulsory
Focal Length: 70.00 mm
Sensor ISO Speed: 320
Metering Mode: Evaluative
Notice the Sensor ISO speed and the ISO speed rating are different.
When I looked up one of my own shots. There was no label for Sensor ISO speed and all the other specs matched my real settings. Right now, I'm making the assumption that it could be a DSLR Canon thing - but I would need to check more pictures.Last edited by ddaquaria; 01-09-2010, 08:34 AM. Looks like all of them were taken with the following settings:Originally posted by myjohnson View PostHey Jim,
what combo of aperture and shutter speed did you use for these moop pictures?
# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/100 second ===> 0.01 second
# Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 56/10 ===> ƒ/5.6
# Exposure Program = shutter priority (4)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 3200
Camera Model = Canon EOS 50D
# Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode (this was for the shot that I liked the most)
# Focal Length = 135/1 mm ===> 135 mm (this was for the shot that I liked the most)Last edited by ddaquaria; 01-07-2010, 11:18 AM.
