What is the acceptable temperature difference for waterchange - Trophs

I’m not saying is wrong but I do keep the temperature as close as possible to the one in the tank just to be safe. The only reason why I think is better; it’s because the fish evolve in one of the oldest lake on earth and temperature fluctuations are minimal so I’d like to provide an environment as close as possible for them.
Ad Konings mention that the fish tolerate cooler water better than hot in one of his books and I agree I really don’t think they should be affected but I am sure they do feel the change some times for the better because is almost sure to see pairs everywhere doing the shake and bake soon after, but like Ek mention they do get lethargic in some occasions and this is worries me just because no matter what clean and healthy environment they are living in they are still cold blooded animals and it could reflect in their digestion and a weak fish or one with a weak immune system could pay the price.
No data to back up anything I said just trying to use common sense and learning for you guys.

John and Thai use hot water to bump up the temp. Soon we can go all out with our water changes. Can't wait.

During the winter I also started using hot water mixed in with the water from the outside hose with no problems doing 90% water changes on all my tanks.

As long as you didn't blast the water back into the tank they should be fine... might be a bit lethargic but I've messed up worst and never lost any fish. 8degs is a bit much but not extreme.

Cesar I messed up a couple of months ago and did a water change..My fish where in 78 degree water and once the change was done it was 66 degree's. Once I noticed the water was that cold I didnt do any other tank but all the fry to all adult Chilambo's didnt care. About 6 hours later the water was back to 78 and everyone was happy as a lark.

I've done this a couple of times already with no problems, just checking to see what you all have done in the past. I think it's acceptable and even stimulates spawning behavior, John seems to agree although the water out of the tap is about 3 degrees warmer at his place

my temp changed 3 degrees in my tank on a WC once and i had 7 WC geos die. my temp never goes below 1 degree off now.....but they are geos not trophs so i dunno.

I don't check the temp. I just drain and fill from the tap through the crowder carbon snake. Been doing it for a few months with no problems

I never had a temp swing like that, but like Jim, my water temp drops like 4 degrees, but my fish seem to do just fine.

I've been doing wc from outside all winter. I just do less of %, maybe 25% twice a week. Now I'm doing 50% twice a week, each time a temp drop of only 4 deg. My fish don't care, they use to temp going up and down being they are in the garage.

how much of a temp difference is acceptable? Did a water change today using outside water with a difference of 9 degrees (79 down to70), fish are fine just seeing what everybody else has experienced with their trophs.
