cant you just go buy a couple pieces of PVC to make it so the tube goes to the back of the tank?

Ok, so I got the sand in the tank(140lbs SeaFloor araganite), filled it with water, drilled the holes in the back of the stand for the tubes to go through, setup one Eheim 2262 and got it running on there now. I forgot the tank was Euro up top so the intake tube doesnt fit against the back wall of the tank...they are just hanging in there for now. When I get ready to move around Halloween I will look into getting this tank drilled for 3x 2262's. Got to get some tubing tomorrow and setup the other filter tomorrow. I will water change tomorrow to get rid of the cloudiness due to the aragonite.

**Update** Total Chimba Fry from this tank= 103
Total Petro Rainbow Macro fry from this tank=23

Doing a water change and found 3 more swimming around. I guess these were spit along with the other 9 I found the other day. Pulled them and they now live in the 20 gallon fry tank with there brothers and sisters!!!

looking good Randall, the LEDS will be awesome on top.

I would go with the glass tops, because you know already how nice that works for you, saves on evaporation, and keeps a fish or 3 in the tank.

Cannot wait to see the finished product.

well, I just searched all over the house and I dont have the right tools for the job tonight. I'll try to get the supplies this week to connect the lights to the canopy.

    yup!

I seen this on a lot of SW set-up with HM. They hang the light from the ceiling. Plus the lighting from the HM doesn't hurt the eyes as bad.

    really clean look to me.

Not a bad idea...I have a closed canopy on my 180g with my Fronts and I was trying to find a way to get rid of the glass tops and connect the light fixture to the top of the canopy. I figured that would help with the shimmer effect.

Make the canopy at least 18" high and open. The fish would have to jump around the lights and a foot and a half to get out. If a fish wants to die that bad who are we to stand in his way?

But those LEDs will shimmer so much nicer if you don't have glass tops!
