    Re: Fish Ranch II

I wouldn't call it ripping off.

Its aquascaping and it has it's variances, if you look through the AGA contestant entries most of all of them look similar to Amano's or Oliver Knott's scapes.

If you talk to him he refers jeff, mike senske and luis navarro so he gives credit where its due.

Also they had some freshwater pipefish...seahorses that aren't curly and live in fresh to brackish water. Anyone have experience with these?

My only problem was I did not see one human. The only voice I heard was that bloody parrot!!

Great selsction though...I would have bought something, but it would get too cold before I could leave work and go home....I'll go back monday and take my cooler/warmer with me.
When you say phoenix rasbora do you mean the microrasboras merah? Those are freaking amazing! I bought a little group for my possible ADA nano that I might enter into the AGA contest.

I thought about them for a week and the galaxy doesn't do it for me.....the Merah/phoenix has a lot more potential and contrast much better in a green planted tank.

Mine are really turning red now that they are in a better home! I might get some Galaxy just to breed but  a friend is definitely going to get some.

Breeding the Galaxy would be a noble thing to do. The species was only described last year, and yet already there is concern over its future in the wild.

If anyone gets to breeding them, I certainly would be interested in buying some...

                      Re: Fish Ranch II

                      $12.99 or 5/$50

There are others if you are really into Rasboras or really nice fish for planted tanks or tanks in general also some super cool barbs that you will probably only see in magazines or something.

as for the Celestials Fish Gallery has 10/$80 but one is the same price as FRII

Expertise is hard to come by these days.  I just spoke with Charles on the phone about a plague sweeping my fish population and he was able to diagnose the problem and recommend Metronidazole treatment with instructions on how to best administer the product for faster results.  Thanks for the help and customer service Charles, it is appreciated!

Is this the same fish ranch that is on larkwood??  You all seem to like it alot but when I went there for the first time a few days ago, I wasn't impressed....but after reading your comments I am thinking of looking a little harder at the store....maybe I am just being over critical or something.  And to be honest, I really don't have alot of experience with LFS's....in the place I lived before texas your options were wal-mart or pet smart.  Now I'm starting to feel bad for having not so good thoughts about that store....

lucy, notice the date of all the posts, they were mostly in early 2007 and then some later, lots have happened since and there is a thread called "the demise and rebirth of fish ranch two" i think - which will tell you why they are heading to being a craphole from a good store, your observation is correct, it is not good now, used to be before the focus moved from fish to other ventures
                                65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted
55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid
                                30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted

                                live and let live
