  • HLA elections/mini auction - 03-28-09

HLA elections and a mini auction will be held at 10am on Saturday March 28th at the Fish Ranch in Rosenberg. Everyone is welcome. Ken Steblein and I are running for vice president/board member and president/board member respectively. There are lots of different positions to be filled for officers, board members and committee chairmen. Please email me or post your intentions to run at the Houston Aquarium Society or the Houston Fish Box.

Twenty five percent of all auction sales will go back to the HLA and sales tax will be charged.

Direction to Fish Ranch: Take 59 South to Hwy 36. Turn right on 36. Turn right on 90. Go two streets over, to the corner of third and 90-also known as Avenue H (36 and First Street are the same in downtown). The address is 939 Third Street, Rosenberg, Tx 77471. The Fish Ranch phone number is 832-595-2777 if there are any questions.

Ek, thank you for the kind words. Life is very busy right now with job changes, hurricanes, and extended family. I enjoyed the rest while Ken Steblein was president of HLA and I am looking forward to being president of HLA again if elected. I think the club is somehow more legetimate now that it has had two different presidents. Thanks Ken.

        livebearers for sale / trade

I will be bringing snakeskin guppies, endlers, marigold platties, pintail marigold platties, red wag pintail platties, red (koi) swordtails, red & black swordtails, pineapple swordtails. and looking for highfin or lyretail platties & swordtails.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I brought home a beautiful pair of Gold Wag Lyretail Sailfin Mollies, a pair of Velifera, Green Lyretails, Silver Lyretails and Silver non-Lyretails, Green Sailfins from San Antonio, and a variety of Green Sailfin that develops a small swordtail.
I am so thrilled with these fish from Goliad Farms; those who missed the event missed a special auction.
There were some Goodieds, Killies, Platys, Guppys...a really fine variety of beautiful fish.:emt_thumbs:

Wish I could have been there but I had some health problems the previous night and didn't wake up untill 9:45am. When you have enough to share, please let me know.
