I need to see these fish in person. When Mike had the huge colony of these fish, I dont ever remember any of them with yellow dorsals and bellies.

I hate to say just based upon looking at a youtube video, but there might be some mismatch in there.

I know EK had gotten a bunch of fry from some vendor on Trophs.com ands its real easy to mix up brichardi fry cause they are all orange and banded, unless you know what your doing.

Hopefully Mike will post, but seriously I dont remember seeing that. Its also 3am and Ive been drinking...lol... :)
I know exactly what you are talking about Geoff. I was thinking the same thing. If memory serves me correctly, EK got 11 WC from Mike, so we know for sure those are mtoto. He later got f1's from Doug at Reserve and striped one or two of the WC females that he had. So the only ones in question are the f1's from Reserve.

Don't know if Reserve did EK right or not. You know how hard it is to tell what type of tropheus they actually are when they are young.

In the video, some almost look like ujiji to me. However, I also saw them in real life and they are actually still small. So I think with time we'll know for sure if they are all mtoto are not.

Mike also had them in with Petros and other tank mates at one point. Peter has them in a tank by themselves so maybe that also plays a role in the yellow showing up.
I ate my fish that died.

The yellow on the colored up males that I was referring to were the WC adults from Mike. The juvies are too small to really hold territory or anything.

I believe the M'toto that I got from Reserve should be correct cause at the time I think that was the only Brichardi variant he had in stock.

Could be wrong but then again what's not word of mouth these days.

Like Peter just stated... the Dom. Male had some wild colors that showed up in my tank that was not present at any other time that I saw this variant (@mike's when full colony and afterwards) so who knows...
