C02 Question

I’ve had DIY C02 in the past using sugar water and yeast and have had amazing results. I finally coughed up some money and bought a setup. I went with the Pro-SE Series advanced dual stage C02 regulator with the inline diffuser and a drop checker kit along with a 20lb bottle of C02. My question is, can this setup be used with an HOB? I have an aquaclear 110 on my 55. The inline diffuser is designed for a canister filter. I mean I have one, but it’s on another tank. Should I switch filters, or can I make this setup work?

I got a new canister filter Penn Plax Cascade. The new problem was that the filter tubing is too large for the diffuser. I couldn’t use the buts that came with the diffuser so I tried hose clamps. Didn’t work, leaks like crazy. I’m going to try to use a lot of Teflon tape on the threads of the diffuser to see if that’ll work. I’ll post pictures if all goes well
